The art of achieving the best sound from vinyl takes practice and patience. It is a journey full of musical delight that keeps getting better and likely for most will never end. All vinyl records hold within them the potential to delight and most do. However, some fall short. It is finding the ones that do and then unlocking their sonic secrets that makes up this journey.
My goal for this channel is to hopefully provide a little insight into ‘the journey’ and then to share some of what I have learned with those that have the same passion and/or may be just beginning and want to know more.
Some of the music on this channel will be presented from my personal vinyl music archives and some 'live' as I am on the hunt to finding the best sounding copy. So you will hear the good and the bad. And I appreciate any feedback along the way. Thanks for watching!

I had the great pleasure of meeting Buddy in 1981. I was eating in a restaurant in Newport Beach California and he came in with someone and sat down at the table next to us. I made sure not to bother him but truth is I was a fan but did the right thing. I left him alone. So we were just finishing desert when he was all done and he got up from his table, said hello to us and thanked us for being pleasant and then said, this is for you... he went into a little dance right there and then between our tables. It was wonderful.

Yes. I agree. The original stereo mix was a great sound and it is interesting to note that it was only heard from 1965 through the mid-80's. And then to help usher in the digital age in the form of CD's, it was decided that a new remix was in order for that album by producer Martin and so subsequently, the original was abandoned in favor of the remix version and has been that way since. But I think it is important and long overdue to start acknowledging those very important differences between the original sound and the remixed version by figuring out a way to incorporate BOTH as part of the next digital remaster project that comes along from the labels. There's value to be found in both versions and both are very relevant in their own right. A step in the right direction was including the originals in the 2009 Mono Box Set release, however. But more needs to be done. Thanks for listening and I'm glad you enjoyed. I hope you come back often.
